We are looking for a (Senior) Business Development Manager (100%) and a (Junior) Business Development Manager to join the Inbiose team in Ghent, Belgium.
Inbiose is an independent (founder led) Biotech company, that leads the way in the development and application of specialty carbohydrates, such as human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). Inbiose is providing ingredients and technological solutions to business partners and customers in several industries, such as early life nutrition, medical nutrition, dietary supplements & OTC, personal care and food. We now have an interesting opportunity for an experienced (Senior) Business Development Manager and (Junior) Business Development Manager to join our team.
We are looking for someone with a scientific background, good knowledge of consumer health science industry (e.g. dietary supplements, OTC), eager to explore & develop new business opportunities and partnerships. With the aim to grow Inbiose’s position within specialty carbohydrates (HMOs). Experience with pre-, pro-, postbiotics or other applications/ products related to the microbiome, will be of great advantage.
Business strategy; translate the commercial strategy into an annual operational plan for designated business segments (a.o. dietary supplements, OTC). Take the necessary initiatives and actions, to achieve business objectives and targets.
Business development; create and maintain excellent contacts within your business segments (prospects, customers, scientific community, other industry partners). Identify, create and develop new business opportunities.
Customer development and partnerships; manage prospects, establish relations with new customers and grow the relations with existing ones. Manage customer relationships both on strategic and operational level (day to day customer management).
Initiate and develop new value propositions; understand market developments and trends, initiate and work out new value propositions and business cases. Work closely with a cross-functional team (e.g. regulatory affairs, scientific teams, marketing) to bring the concepts alive and ready for market launch.
Project Management; manage customer- and product development projects. Make sure to prioritize the projects, ensure sufficient resources (both internal and external) and a timely delivery of projects as per pre-set milestones.
External communication: support initiatives to increase the visibility and awareness of Inbiose in the market. Support marketing and communication activities, represent Inbiose on scientific-, market- and customer events.
Build and deliver effective presentations to internal- and external stakeholders; like customers/ brand owners, technology licensees.
Proven busines development experience and success within the health science category. Experience as Technical Sales Manager will be considered a plus.
Track record in business development; that can be supported by examples of successfully initiating new opportunities/ partnerships, business case development and market execution.
Good network within the health science industry. Pharma-, dietary supplements- and OTC experience considered a strong plus.
Excellent leadership-, networking-, communication (word and written)-, project management- and negotiation skills. As well as analytical capabilities.
Self-starting and inspired by the idea of joining a growing company. A team player, with an entrepreneurial mindset and motivated to overcome challenges and get things done.
Bachelor’s degree in science (such as biochemistry, bio-engineering, pharmaceutical sciences), business or equivalent.
Affinity with nutritional/ health sciences. Scientific, regulatory and technical knowledge are considered a plus.
Languages: fluency in English is a must, knowledge of any other language a plus.
Willing to travel (globally) and on a frequent base (at least 20- 30%).
