Senior Business Development Manager

We are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager, with a scientific background, eager to identify, build and shape new opportunities and forge business partnerships

We aim to further establishing our position as Preferred Technology Partner in Specialty Carbohydrates across multiple application segments and industries. As Senior Business Development Manager, you will work on identifying and building new opportunities in the food and health ingredients space to address consumer health challenges such as in the fields of infant formula, OTC Dietary supplements, medical nutrition and beyond.

Position

  • Ideation and discovery: You will generate and evaluate ideas and leads regarding business opportunities for specialty carbohydrates in collaboration with the management team and the science teams, IP and regulatory.
  • Incubation: You will develop business cases and assess the feasibility of new opportunities (technical USP, market landscape, competitive landscape, financial … etc). You will work together with the relevant functions of the Inbiose teams including IP, legal, regulatory affairs, and researchers to optimize value creation and support development of strong USP, value propositions and IP protection.
  • Innovation management: You will contribute to the prioritization, budget allocation and timely execution of projects. You will be in charge of managing and executing projects using both internal resources as well as collaborations aimed to drive strategic innovations … External relations and Partnerships: You will network, identify and secure partnerships for new products and applications. You will manage day to day commercial relationships with a set of prospects and customers.
  • External communications: You will support initiatives to increase the visibility of Inbiose and its technology platform and support the marketing and communication efforts.

Profile

  • You have 2 to 3 years of experience in a business development role, or B2B commercial role working at the interface of life science and business.
  • You have excellent networking skills and are a strong team player.
  • You have an advanced degree (MSc, PhD, MD) within a Life Science orientation (such as Biochemistry, Bio-engineering, Pharmaceutical sciences, Medicine) and can demonstrate an affinity with nutritional sciences, medical nutrition, bio-actives components, food science.
  • You will quickly develop an in depth science knowledge in specific applications fields enabling you to speak in depth and with authority on topics in health & nutrition, medical nutrition, dietary supplements, glycobiology, animal nutrition, cosmetics.
  • You are ready to travel frequently on a global scale.
Further desirable assets:
  • Experience in any of writing business plans, financial modelling, business strategy, innovation pipeline management, legal matters, intellectual property rights or regulatory affairs, perhaps acquired these on the job, or through specific training (e.g. Technology Transfer course, Innovation Management course or EMBA).
  • Initial experience with regulatory processes.

Regulatory Affairs Manager

We are looking for an experienced Regulatory Affairs Manager with strong scientific background.

We aim to further establishing our position as Preferred Technology Partner in Specialty Carbohydrates in the field of infant nutrition and beyond. As Regulatory Affairs Manager, you will work on preparing regulatory dossiers for food ingredient applications as well as initiate and supervise external works on our new food ingredients.

Position

The Regulatory Affairs Manager will be in charge of:

  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory dossiers for ingredient submissions globally (food, feed, cosmetics, REACH/CLP,...).
  • Interact with external and internal analytical and project teams to understand, assess and collect information relevant to regulatory submissions.
  • Interact with third party experts and customers and staying up to speed on ongoing clinical and preclinical data and trials.
  • Maintain an awareness of new and developing legislation, regulatory policy and regulatory guidance relating to our ingredients, mainly in the EU and US.
  • Assess regulatory risks associated with regulatory paths and define plans with project teams to mitigate the risks.
  • Initiate and supervise external work (mostly of analytical nature) to fill data gaps.

Profile

  • Holds a degree (BSc, MSc or PhD) in a scientific discipline related to nutrition, toxicology or biotechnology; and potentially in addition a degree in ingredient regulatory affairs (Postgrad, BSc or MSc).
  • Preferably practical experience in related fields (e.g. regulatory affairs, toxicology, food legislation, scientific writing, governmental food authorities).
  • Demonstrated excellent scientific writing skills.
  • Multidisciplinary understanding of science, technology and legislation.
  • Excellent Office software and general software skills.

Personal skills and requirements

  • Self-starter, able to work independently and manage multiple projects and timelines, while maintaining the team focus.
  • Must have a "can-do" attitude and a strong desire to take ownership of projects, eager to find solutions to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in order to collaborate with people on all levels and from different cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong oral communication, presenting and networking skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% internationally.
  • Perfectly fluent in English.
  • Additional language skills (i.e. Mandarin, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Malay) are a plus.
